Finally, I got it done…I am actually very proud of my latest chore idea for our home…This is my best work yet…If I could say so myself…
The previous chart and money chart, I posted was a good idea at first…Kids maybe spent a week actually participating in it…They wanted to earn money…So I tried to present them with ideas to do around the house to earn money…Now, though, they have not done anything…I guess they do not want to earn money bad enough that they have to actually do something…
So out with the old chore chart and in with the new “key chain chores”…The idea just popped in my head one day…I spent several days on planning how to go about it…I made a practice one and I was happy with the results…These past few days…I have spent perfecting the one idea and example…Today, I finally finished it…There is not reason, my kids cannot help out around the house…I just needed to find someway to bring organization into the mix without having to repeat and repeat myself about their chores…
Here is a few pictures of the final project…
They are metal curtain rings I am using, I bought at Menard for $1.99…They were used to hang a fabric shower curtain up on a rod but my brother gave us a curtain rod and we bought a curtain at GoodWill… So I thought I could recycle them…I figure you could also use cheapy key chain rings or whatever else you having lying around the house…
Wanted to actually spend money on a laminating machine for this but money is still tight and it is not a necessity at the time…So why not use why I already have lying around my home…Packing tape…We still have plenty left from our past move…I taped one large piece of tape the length of each card and wrapped around…Then 2 smaller pieces of tape over each side…Then trimmed with scissors to get it an uniformed look…
Used a hole puncher, that was given to us by my parents for each card and put them all together…
I numbered each group of cards 1,2, and 3…There is a group for weekday chores…And a group for Saturday (once a week chores)…
Here are the files, I made for the cards…Please feel free to copy, edit and use for your own personal use…The clip art photos I used are not mine…They are copied and pasted from multiple online sites…I do not own the copyright to any of this clip art…

As you have read…Several of the chores are repeated for each set…These are daily things that have to be done by each child…The main chores of the family are split up for each card set…
Feel free to mix and match however you like…This is just the set my husband and I decided to do together…The workload for each set is evenly distributed for each card set…
The Keychain chore charts are changed each week…Each child has a specific number to work on each week…I made a chart to put on the fridge for helping the kids to know what week they are on and what number of card set they have for the upcoming week…
Here is a link to my chart for that…
