Somehow, Someway…I am still wide awake with only a few hours asleep in me…I had an early meeting and I was up way past my bedtime…My youngest has not been able to sleep these past few nights…He has been staying up until the early morning hours…His little mind just doesn’t want to rest, I suppose…He is quiet though…Just doing his own thing…Thank You God for keep me awake to enjoy the day you blessed me with…

Meeting today with school psychologist and special ed teacher…My youngest’s IEP was supposed to be finalized today but the speech pathologist was sick and unable to attend the meeting…Meeting did go on just have to wait until speech therapist puts her notes in and final copy will be mailed to me…

I did ask the psychologist in the meeting about her ideas or feelings about a diagnosis…I understand she may not be able to give definite answers but was wanting to know if she was leaning towards something specifically…Again, I hear…”He has Autistic Tendencies but he is very social”…She repeats telling me how, she cannot give a clearer answer because they have to see him interact with peers his own age in their school…Even though, I clearly gave them more than enough examples of his interactions with his peers and adults…It just was not an acceptable form for them to use…I suppose again…Thank You God for giving me patience…

This is my concern though…I didn’t have the opportunity to voice my opinion at the meeting but I did talk it over with my husband…If I was told my son was very social but they needed to see how he interacted with his peers…I am confused on exactly what is the misunderstanding of his social skills and why he needs to be seen with kids his age…As an adult, I interact with folks of all ages…I have to be able to have this skill to be able to adapt and live in today’s world…Just my two cents…Thank You God for making my kids unique…

Hubby and I were considering maybe enrolling him in part-time school but after this 2nd meeting…We are both in agreement to continue to home-school him…I did get an opportunity to ask what kind of reading curriculum the special ed teacher would be using to help him read…I was told she begins with phonics than moves on to progressive readers…That is exactly how I taught my oldest son to read…Again, I repeat…My oldest is reading at High School Level and he is only 11…I shouldn’t question myself and my abilities ..Especially, when I am doing exactly what the special ed teacher is planning on doing…Thank You God for helping me to speak up and ask questions…

I am looking into a few free online reading programs to introduce to him…He seems to enjoy the visual aspects of learning…I want to use that throughout the week and continue to do normal book work too…Heck, my youngest has just begun to read well this past year…He is (according to the school’s testing), at a beginning 2nd grade level…I will take that…And grow with it…He has what it takes…Just learns differently…Now, that I have acknowledge that…I am going to do my best to make it work for him…Thank You God for helping me to be a great mother and teacher…

Didn’t get all the kids’ schoolwork done today but we got most of it done…Just to pretty to stay cooped in inside…Sunny and warm all day…Hubby got our entire lawn mowed and trimmed…Ahh, I love the smell of Spring and freshly cut grass…Thank You God for the sunshine and my hubby tending to our yard…

Came across a website today and thought I would test my boys and hubby about their love languages and how they feel, comprehend and understand love…The results are in…Oldest son tied with “WORDS OF AFFIRMATIONS & QUALITY TIME”…Youngest son, “QUALITY TIME” was at the top of the list for him…Both of these scores came as a surprise for me…I thought the complete opposite for them…Hubby was “ACTS OF SERVICE”…I knew years ago from reading the ’5 LOVE LANGUAGES” that my husband’s way of showing love was through his “ACTS OF SERVICE”…I had no idea that is how he understood and felt love…Wow, this could open up a whole new revelation and chapter in our marriage…Exciting times here folks…Thank You God for revealing this to me…
