I am exhausted…We have been running and shopping almost the entire day…We are not usually big shoppers but the entire store of Goodwill was 50% off…Our day began as usual except for only having one kid in the morning to play with…My youngest woke up and jumped on his new Wipeout game for the WII…Hubby and I had our morning pot of coffee and walked the dog…After tending to a few household chores we set out for our day of bargain hunting…I was a little stressed out getting going though…My butt didn’t get out of bed till past 11 this morning…I just decided there was no reason to get up early because I didn’t have anywhere to be at a certain time…But when 1:30 hit the clock…I decided it was time to go, so I rushed the rest of the family out the house…We were finally on the road of 2pm…Jeez, I really should have thought this shopping day through better…It didn’t occur to me in the morning when I was sleeping so nicely in my bed warm that I really wanted to get out to start shopping earlier…Thank You God for the time with my youngest in the morning…
Oh my goodness, Goodwill was packed…The line for the register was wrapped around the store…I began to look in the curtains…I was on the hunt for a new curtain for my youngest son’s quiet room…We had taken the door off of one of the closest’s downstairs and hung up a tension rod with a fabric shower curtain…It did not match well and it looked kinda tacky too…We scored though…A brassy blackout curtain with some 2 large gold flower shapes…It was only $6.06…The curtain will now cover the entire door frame and it matches nicely with my new colors in my living room…We also found 2 large pictures for $4.04 a piece…They are oriental flower pots with a mixture of the 3 colors of my living room…They are going to look very nice above our piano…5 spoons for 50 cents together…I do not know why but our spoons seem to disappear quickly around here…Some plastic totes for organizing the kids’ video game collection and controllers…5 Multi-Colored Green Fabric Place-mats for kitchen table for $2.00…These will match the green and yellow colors in my kitchen…Hubby and son waited in long line while I got to go look at some shirts for myself…By the time I was finished shopping for shirts, it was time for us to check out…I ended up getting several shirts that are long enough to cover the extra flab on my belly…They were only $1.76 a piece…We found some great stuff for good prices…It was a success…My living room is going to look so pretty when we are all done…Thank You God for the available finances to go shopping and buy some things I wanted…
Next stop pick up daughter from friends house…We ended up talking to the parents for a little while…The kids all were playing hide-and-seek in the basement of their house…We had to tell them it was time to leave…They didn’t want to because they were having so much fun…It is nice though to see our kids playing with other kids and getting along with others…It is equally just as nice to have some grown-up conversation beside talking to a pediatrician or sales clerk…But we needed to leave…We had more shopping to do and my daughter’s friend had things to do too…Added plus, they only live about 5 minutes from us…It is hard to meet new friends for the kid and even meet new people when we are home almost all the time with each-other…We sometimes forget we need adults, just as much as our kids need friends…Thank You God for new friends and adult conversation…
Then home for a lunch break and potty break for us and the animals…They have to go into cages because they get into everything…Then we were off with our daughter and youngest son to another Goodwill…Just to check it out and I had to take a few shirts back because they were just too small for me…They were awfully cute though…The kids scored on expanding their growing Webkinz collection…Webkinz are a stuff animal of various sizes that have a virtual world online…Half-Off, they were only 50 cents a piece…We paid for 2 of them and anymore above that, the kids agreed to pay for them theirselves…Anyways, I was able to find a few more shirts and a very cute dress…This time I tried them all one before purchasing them…My husband very patiently sat and waited and gave me his opinion of what he liked and didn’t like…My husband has seemed to become my shopping buddy through the years…His opinion does really matter to me…When we first got to the store, the line was wrapped around the store…While I was shopping for shirts, the line was completely gone…Then when I was checking out, the line wrapped around the store again…The last item I brought was some file folders for a dollar…Then I was done…Nothing else I really needed and I spent enough money for the day…Thank You God for my hubby being my shopping friend…
I planned on taking the kids to the $1.00 movies at 7:50 but when I looked at my clock after shopping, we were cutting it close…We still had another store to go too…So we decided to make it another day…We were headed to Best Buy to buy a non-contract phone…I just recently discovered non-contract phones…We are paying over $60 a month for a cell phone…We maybe use 50 minutes a month of this in talking and around 20 texts…We are so overpaying for our cell phone usage…I did some research and decided to go with a Tracphone…For around $20, we have 180 minutes for 90 days…The cost of the cell phone was $42.99 Amazon.com…So instead of buying online, I noticed Best Buy carried the same Tracphone, I was wanting to buy…I remembered their latest commercials and advertisements talk about matching prices even online retailers like Amazon.com…So why not go to a store in town and get the phone and start saving money today on my cell phone…
I do not even want to begin what happened next…I am frustrated and furious…I found the phone with the help of an associate…I ask him about the price matching of Amazon.com…I showed him a piece of paper with the website url and tell him it was listed for $42.99 brand new…Best Buy’s price is $59.99…The associate told me, “I am not sure if we match prices with phones, let me go check”…He leaves and goes to the service desk…After about 10 minutes of him not returning, I went to go look for him…I found him at the service desk looking over the shoulder of another associate reading a computer screen…About 5 minutes later, he comes out and tells me…”We do not match prices on cell phones…I ask him to show me the disclaimer and their rules of price matching…He leads me to a computer and looks for over 2 minutes and finally points to something on the screen…What he has me read says something about price matching and comparisons…I told him I didn’t understand and he told me this…This is where I got frustrated…He said or something along the lines, “Price matching on cell phones is at Best Buy’s discretion…They only price match certain things during promotional times”…
Well, that is not what they advertise at all, not even close, I tell him…I ask for a manager…He leaves to get one…I follow him back to the service desk…He is now standing over the shoulder of the manager as she stares at a computer screen…Finally, the manager comes out…I explain to her the situation and tell her, there is nothing written about not price matching cell phones in their disclaimer and also non of their advertisements nor commercials talk about only price matching during promotional times…I told her this was false advertising and not very good business practices…She tells me, “I will take care of you but we do not price match cell phones…She was going to give me the price of the phone from Amazon.com…I told her, I was not interested…I did not want to do business or support a company that lies to its consumers…I will be going to Amazon.com…Honestly, I would rather pay $60.00 for the phone at a another store that does not have false advertising ..That is the truth…So I walked out of the store and plan on never doing business with this company again…I also intend to write a long detail letter to corporate offices of Best Buy too…What I do best…Write…Thank You God for helping me to keep calm and to be wise with the money you bless me with…
Stopped by and visited my brother for a bit and then headed home…Cleaning, cooking a quick dinner of pizza and hot pockets…Hubby hung up curtain over closet…It looks awesome…I will post pics of room when it is all done…Kids playing video games and I am writing…A little bit of laundry folding and we are off to bed…Hopefully, I will get up early enough to go to church in the morning…I want to and intend to try my best…
Good evening my readers…Thank You for listening to my ranting and raving…I had a lot to say…My mind is racing and I thought I would share it with you…I thought you may also enjoy hearing about my shopping days…I know you are really interested in knowing what I bought and for how much…Keep hold of all you love close to you and Thank God when before you close your eyes for all he has blessed you with…
Beautiful Savior, my creator of everything I am surrounded with…It is the pièce de résistance of everything…
